Guardians of The MiddleVerse

House of Abraxas

House of Leo

House of Selvans

House of Panthera

The MiddleVerse is a vast and intricate cosmos, where peace, prosperity and the pursuit of self-betterment are the prevailing norm. Over aeons, countless civilisations have risen and flourished, contributing to a shared cultural and spiritual heritage that spans across its galaxies. Yet, beneath this veneer of harmony lies the ever-present threat of darkness, ambition and malevolence, primarily emanating from the reptilian House of Draco and its genetically engineered cross-species. These sinister forces represent the greatest challenge to the peace and stability of The MiddleVerse, requiring constant vigilance and the dedication of its most powerful warriors.

The Shadow of the House of Draco:
The House of Draco is the embodiment of dark ambition, a relentless force seeking to dominate the entire cosmos. They are not only masters of technology and war but also possess the terrifying ability to shape-shift, making them very hard to detect and root out. Their influence has spread across The MiddleVerse, corrupting other species and creating a series of formidable allies in their quest for power:

House of Akula:
- A sentient species of Chondrichthyes, seeded in the Hydronis System, the Akula are fierce, aquatic predators. Engineered by the House of Draco to be warriors. Their cities are underwater fortresses, technological marvels that rival those of the most advanced civilisations. Despite their savage nature, the Akulans are also highly intelligent and capable of great technological innovation, making them formidable foes.

House of Udo:
- The Vuk System is home to the Lycans of the House of Udo, another genetic creation of the Draco. These werewolves are the epitome of primal rage and physical prowess, able to shift between human and beast forms. The Lycans are a scourge upon their enemies, driven by a lust for blood and conquest, yet bound by a twisted sense of loyalty to their Draconian masters.

House of Upiór:
- In the Orek System, the Succubi of the House of Upiór lurk in the shadows, drawing strength from the life force of others. These beings are as seductive as they are deadly, using their allure to manipulate and drain their victims. The Upiór are experts in psychological warfare, undermining societies from within before striking with lethal precision.

Dark Selvans:
- Once the noble protectors of nature, over time, quite a few Selvans have been perverted by the Draconians to become Dark Selvans. These corrupted tree-beings drain life rather than nurture it, leaving barren wastelands in their wake. Their power, once used to maintain cosmic balance, became a tool of destruction, turning them into one of the most feared adversaries of the allied Houses.

The Guardians of The MiddleVerse:
In response to the growing threat posed by the House of Draco and its genetic creations, the most advanced and spiritually attuned Houses have united their forces to form the Guardians Class. This elite cast of warriors is tasked with defending the cosmos from the House of Draco’s machinations and ensuring the freedom of all life in The MiddleVerse.

House of Abraxas:
- The peoples of the House of Abraxas are the pinnacle of genetic engineering, created from the DNA of 23 different sentient species from across The MiddleVerse, one of those being the Draconian genome strand. They possess unparalleled potential for growth and excellence, making them ironically, the natural leaders in the galactic fight against the Draco. The Abraxians are highly skilled in both physical combat and the use of the cosmic energy they cal Aetherion, making them formidable opponents on any battlefield.

House of Leo:
- The House of Leo, composed of sentient felines, originally from the Ryon System, are natural warriors and loyal allies of the Abraxians. As another of the 23 genetic contributors to the House of Abraxas genome, the Leonians share a deep bond with them. Their agility, strength and predatory instincts make them fierce defenders of  truth and justice in The MiddleVerse.

House of Selvans:
- Despite the corruption of some of their kin, the majority of the House of Selvans remains true to their purpose as guardians of nature and life. These ancient tree-beings wield immense power, capable of affecting entire planets and even influencing cosmic events. Their wisdom and strength are invaluable in the ongoing struggle against the forces of evil and their presence on the battlefield is often decisive.

The Eternal Struggle:
The conflict between the forces of light and darkness in The MiddleVerse is more than just a series of battles. It is a war for the very soul of the cosmos. The Guardians are not only warriors but also the spiritual and cultural embodiments of their civilisations. Each victory they achieve is a triumph for the values of peace, unity and self-betterment, while each loss is a reminder of the ever-present danger posed by the House of Draco.

The Guardians of The MiddleVerse are chosen not only for their combat skills but also for their ability to channel the unseen energy of the cosmos, known commonly as The Continuum. These warriors, drawn from the most spiritually and physically advanced beings in The MiddleVerse, are revered as the ultimate protectors of peace and balance. Their mission is not just to defend their own Houses but to safeguard the entire cosmos from the darkness that seeks to consume it.

The Legacy of the Guardians:
As The MiddleVerse continues to evolve, so too does the role of the Guardian Class. They are the bearers of their civilisations’ hopes, dreams and legacies. Every battle they fight, every victory they secure, is a testament to the resilience and strength of the Houses they represent. The story of The MiddleVerse is one of eternal struggle, but also of hope, unity and the unwavering belief that light will ultimately triumph over darkness.

Modus Operandi:

In the grand tapestry of The MiddleVerse, the Guardian Class holds a unique and pivotal role, operating in the shadows to safeguard the delicate balance that keeps the cosmos in harmony. These elite protectors are more than just warriors. They are the silent shepherds of peace, wielding immense power not just through physical might but through their profound connection to the unseen energy that binds the universe together.

Guardians of the Shadows:
The primary duty of the Guardians is to act in secrecy, their existence known only to the most enlightened and trusted leaders of the allied Houses. They are the unseen hand that subtly guides the course of events, preventing catastrophes before they manifest and ensuring that the forces of darkness are kept at bay. Through their mastery of cosmic energies, the Guardian Class can influence the outcomes of critical moments in galactic history, nudging The MiddleVerse towards a path of light without revealing their presence.

This "clandestine" approach allows them to operate without drawing the attention of their enemies, especially the ever-watchful and cunning House of Draco. By staying in the shadows, the Guardians avoid becoming targets themselves, ensuring that their influence remains undetected and their missions unimpeded.

Masters of Cosmic Energies:
The Guardians are not just warriors of flesh and blood. They are conduits for the cosmic energy that flows through The MiddleVerse. This energy, often referred to by the House of Tempus as The Current is the very essence of life, creation and cosmic balance. The Guardian Class has learned to harness this power, using it to heal, protect and, when necessary, to destroy.

Through meditation, training and a deep spiritual connection with the cosmos, the Guardians can channel this energy in ways that defy conventional understanding. They can manipulate time and space, creating individual energy portals, enabling them to instantly traverse vast galactic distances, if required. These, amongst other formidable characteristics, makes them fierce opponents in combat, capable of turning the tide of entire battles with a single, decisive act.

Silent Protectors and Fearsome Warriors:
While the Guardians prefer to work in silence, their power is not to be underestimated. When the situation demands it, they can reveal themselves as frightening warriors, capable of incredible physical feats that far surpass the abilities of ordinary beings. Their strength, speed and endurance are unparalleled, making them nearly invincible in combat.

In addition to their physical prowess, the Guardians can manifest immense cosmic power, enough to alter the outcome of battles and, in certain circumstances, even entire wars. They can summon kinetic storms, unleash waves of destructive energy, as well as manipulate the elements to overwhelm their foes. These displays of power are rare, used only when there is no other option, for they serve as a stark reminder of the Guardians' true potential.

The Hidden Shield of The MiddleVerse:
The Guardians are the hidden shield that protects The MiddleVerse from the encroaching darkness of the House of Draco and its allies. Their influence is felt in the subtle shifts of fate, the sudden turns of fortune that save entire societies from disaster. Yet, their work continues to go unnoticed by most, and that is precisely how the Guardian Class prefers it. Their anonymity allows them to continue their charge unimpeded, ensuring that The MiddleVerse remains a place of peace, prosperity and self-betterment.

In a cosmos teeming with life and possibility, the Guardians are the silent sentinels who ensure that the light of The MiddleVerse continues to shine, even in the face of the darkest threats. Their story is one of quiet heroism, of battles mostly fought and won in the shadows, for the sake of a cosmos that may never know their names but will always owe them its freedom.

The MiddleVerse is a vast and intricate web of civilisations, where sentient beings of various origins coexist, evolve and thrive together. The sentient species there are as numerous as the stars, each contributing to the rich tapestry of life that makes The MiddleVerse a place of wonder, growth and, above all, unity. Some are not just separate species; they are a collective phylum, growing and evolving in tandem, sharing a deep connection that transcends individual differences.

The Peoples of The MiddleVerse:
The MiddleVerse is home to countless sentient species, some of whom possess innate abilities that some might consider magical by nature. These species, despite their vast differences, are united by a common drive toward self-betterment and spiritual enlightenment. They have built advanced civilisations that span entire star systems, each House contributing its unique culture, technology and wisdom to the greater whole.

- Humans are represented by several Houses, including the House of Abraxas, known for their genetic complexity and potential for excellence; the House of Aran - an offshoot of the House of Abraxas, renowned for their warrior culture and spiritual pursuits; the House of Gurun, a blend of human and feline genetics, embodying strength and loyalty; and the House of Cawr - Giant humans - whose characteristics and achievements are still to be fully explored.

- Felines include the majestic House of Leo, the swift House of Tigras, and the stealthy House of Panthera. These feline sentients are known for their agility, strength and deep connection to the natural world, often seen as protectors and warriors.

- Ursidae species are represented by the House of Bruin and the House of Nanuk. These bear sentients are formidable in battle, yet deeply spiritual, valuing wisdom and leadership as much as they do strength.

- Avians bring The MiddleVerse's skies to life, with Houses like the House of Adar, the wise and ever watchful House of Tylluan, the noble House of Eryr and the resplendent House of Feniks. Adar sentients are known for their technological prowess, grace, vision and often a close connection to the fluctuation of cosmic energies.

- Aquatic Sentients include the House of Akula and the House of Hobotnica. Despite their natural rivalry, these Houses contribute to the rich multiplicity of sentience inhabiting The MiddleVerse’s oceanic realms.

- Simian Sentients from the House of Dangun are known for their wisdom, agility, and complex social structures, often serving as both warriors and scholars within their lush jungle cities.

A Tapestry of Peace and Prosperity:
Most of The MiddleVerse thrives in a state of relative peace and prosperity, where the different Houses engage in trade, share technological advancements and exchange cultural practices. This cooperative spirit is largely due to the influence of key Houses such as Abraxas, Leo and Selvans. These Houses, along with the alliance of Houses, serve as the pillars of stability, ensuring that the light of unity and progress continues to shine across the cosmos.

The Shadow of the Serpent:
Yet, even in this near-utopian Verse, darkness lurks in the form of the House of Draco. These reptilian shape-shifters, along with their genetically engineered creations - the House of Akula, House of Upiór and House of Udo - pose a constant threat to peace in The MiddleVerse. Unlike the other Houses, the Draconians are driven by a desire for domination and control, often sowing discord and chaos wherever they go, in pursuit of their ultimate goal; total hegemonic domination.

However, in rare cases, a Draconian or one of their creations might turn away from their inherent darkness, drawn toward the light and the pursuit of self-betterment that defines most of The MiddleVerse. These exceptions are few and far between, but they serve as a reminder that even in the darkest corners of the Verse, there is always the potential for change.

Unity in Difference:
The peoples of The MiddleVerse are a living testament to the power of turning cultural differences into strenghts. Each House, with its unique qualities and perspectives, contributes to the overall harmony of the cosmos. They build magnificent cities, engage in profound spiritual quests, as well as exploring the mysteries of existence together, forging a collective path forwards that honours both the individual and the whole.

As The MiddleVerse continues to grow and evolve, the stories of its inhabitants will continue to unfold, revealing new depths of wisdom, power and potential. Together, they form a cosmic community bound by the shared goal of enlightenment, ever watchful against the encroaching darkness and united in their pursuit of a brighter future for all.

Creatures of The MiddleVerse

The MiddleVerse is a universe teeming with sentient life, and while the major Houses - like those of Abraxas, Leo, Selvans and even the Draco - dominate the cosmic civilisational landscape, there is a rich undercurrent of other, equally remarkable beings. These beings defy the traditional structures of the Houses, existing outside the societal frameworks that characterize the more advanced civilisations. They are the Sentient Creatures of The MiddleVerse, beings whose existence blurs the line between what is biological, magical and cosmic.

The Sentient Creatures of The MiddleVerse:
These creatures, though not aligned with any House, are integral to the very fabric of The MiddleVerse. Their variety is staggering, ranging from the ethereal, to the amicable, to the monstrous. Their presence adds a layer of mystery and wonder to the cosmos.

Sylvania System: The most notable concentration of these creatures is found in the Sylvania System, a region of The MiddleVerse renowned for its planets, with dense, ancient forests, mystical energies, deep connections to the unseen and the magical. The Sylvania System is a place where the boundaries between the physical, the metaphysical and the spiritual are thin. It is there that some of the most extraordinary sentient creatures have been discovered. Living in harmony with the sentient species with whom they share the planets with, like the Houses of Selvans, Abraxas and Leo. They are part of everyday life to the other inhabitants of this solar system.

Luminants: These are bioluminescent beings that float gracefully through the forests of Sylvania, their bodies emitting a soft, glowing light. They communicate through a complex language of light patterns and are believed to be deeply connected to the cosmic energies that flow through The MiddleVerse. Some Abraxian scholars believe that Luminants can influence the very fabric of space-time, although this remains a topic of debate.

Sylphids: Resembling large, translucent butterflies with intricate, ever-changing patterns on their wings, Sylphids are known for their ability to phase in and out of physical existence - very similar to the Photon Butterflies of planet Aegis, in the Orionis System. They are often seen as messengers or omens, appearing before significant cosmic events. Their wisdom is sought after by those who can catch a glimpse of them.

Treants:  Sentient trees that roam the forests of Sylvania. Unlike the Selvans, Treants are not part of any House but are deeply tied to the land itself. They act as guardians of Sylvania's ancient groves, communicating with each other with slow, rumbling voices that resonate through the ground. While Selvans act cosmically, Treants act locally. They are revered by the Selvans and feared by those who would do harm to the natural landscapes of Sylvania.

Otherworldly Creatures Beyond the Sylvania Star System:
While Sylvania is the epicenter of these strange, yet magical and wondrous beings, sentient creatures can be found scattered across other star systems in The MiddleVerse. Their origins are often shrouded in mystery, with theories ranging from ancient cosmic migrations to stowaways on interstellar ships.

Therians: Found drifting through the upper atmospheres of gas giants in the Hima System, Therians are massive, jellyfish-like beings that feed on the electromagnetic energy of their planets. They are largely peaceful, but their mere presence can disrupt communications and navigation systems, leading to myths of cursed planets.

Golems of Hemathion: On the desert worlds of the Hemathion System, the Gurun people speak of the Golems - sentient beings of stone that lie dormant beneath the sands. These creatures are said to awaken only during times of great need, their bodies imbued with ancient energies that make them nearly indestructible. The Golems are believed to be relics of an ancient civilisation that predates even the Gurun.

Chimaeras of the Nathair System: The Nathair System, home to the House of Draco, is also the habitat of the Chimaeras - genetically created creatures that combine the traits of multiple species into one, much like the House of Abraxas. In a way the Abraxians are "Chimaeras" themselves. These creatures are seen, by the Draco, as both a blessing and a curse, revered for their strength and adaptability but feared for their unpredictability. Abraxian scholars from the Cian Line have postulated that the Chimaeras were early experiments by the House of Draco before they perfected the Lycans of Udo. The House of Draco used these creatures in the Battle of Sarim, when they tried to conquer the House of Aran on Zarah, in the Leander star system.

Mystical and Magical Creatures:
Many of these beings are considered magical by the peoples of many worlds, particularly those that possess abilities beyond the understanding of even the most advanced civilisations. The scholars of many Houses, especially those of Abraxas, Leo and Selvans, have long debated the nature of these creatures. Are they the result of cosmic forces at play, or do they represent a more profound connection to the unseen energies that govern The MiddleVerse?

Phantoms of the Anitu System: These spectral beings are said to be the remnants of an ancient race that ascended to a higher plane of existence. They appear as shimmering, ghost-like figures that move through walls and space without hindrance. Phantoms are known to possess great knowledge, often sharing cryptic messages with those they deem worthy.

Wyrms of Nathair: Deep beneath the surface of the Nathair system's planets, the home system of the House of Draco, lie the Wyrms. These are massive, serpent-like creatures with the ability to manipulate elemental forces. While some serve the Draco, others remain independent, driven by their own inscrutable motives. They are revered as gods by some factions of the House of Draco, and feared as harbingers of destruction by others. Deep down, the Draco fear what they cannot understand. Leonian scholars have debated for centuries if it was the House of Draco that introduced these creatures on planet Zarah.

The Enigmatic Nature of Sentient Creatures:
The exact nature and origins of these sentient creatures remains one of the great mysteries of existence. While some are clearly connected to the ancient forces that shaped the cosmos, others seem to defy all logic and understanding. They are not bound by the rules and hierarchies that govern the Houses and their presence often serves as a reminder of the vast, untamed wilds that still exist in the cosmos.

The peoples of The MiddleVerse continue to explore and study these creatures, seeking to understand their place in the grand tapestry of existence. In time, more of their stories will be revealed.

The MiddleVerse is teeming with sentient life, other civilisations will be revealed,
